GE Aerospace Principal Engineer - NDE Imaging Intelligence in Springdale, Ohio

Job Description Summary

This role supports the GE Aerospace Inspection Solutions engineering team. We use imaging, artificial intelligence/computer vision, and software technologies to ensure our engine components are safe for flight at a brand new 80,000 sq. ft. facility located outside of Cincinnati, OH.

In this role, you will work with a dynamic team designing, implementing, and creating processes and industrial software to ensure the quality of jet engine components and accelerate NDE productivity. You will collaborate with other image analytics experts and software developers to create robust assisted defect recognition (ADR) algorithms to ensure part quality with high reliability. Working with the latest aerospace part designs and materials system team are key to define ADR solutions and enable your success.

Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Experience analyzing Computed Tomography (CT)/Xray or ultrasonic images.

  • Execute and provide guidance for the analysis/evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices, and procedures and the product/program requirements.

  • Institute collaboration practices between self-organizing and cross-functional teams.

  • Engage with cross functional teams to drive success throughout the imaging software life cycle.

  • Lead technical and program reviews within the organization.

  • Manage multi-disciplinary projects, communicate business issues, and craft technology strategy as appropriate.

  • Mentor and coach others.

  • Promote a lean mindset.

  • Engage with external agencies and other industry leaders to promote advancements in imaging technology and drive standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a accredited college or university with a minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant engineering or software development experience

  • (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience in relevant engineering or software development experience)

  • Must be a US Citizen or Active Green Card Holder (Export Controlled)

Desired Characteristics

  • Significant prior hands-on experience applying image processing, VG Studi, Avizo software platforms, Python, C++, or other programming languages.

  • Experience leading development teams for design of software architectures and incorporation of customer requirements with a focus on quality.

  • In-depth understanding of engineering technology, tools, and computer operating systems.

  • Demonstrated software coding capabilities and computer networking/security capabilities in a production environment.

  • Ability to guide and influence others.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills.

  • Experience in a nondestructive testing environment.

  • Experience with aviation quality requirements and systems.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
