GE Aerospace Lead Engineer - Commercial Field Service in Seattle, Washington

Job Description Summary

As an Advanced Lead Engineer - Commercial Field Service, you will get the unique opportunity to serve as the primary on-site representative for our customer and a single point of contact for key internal stakeholders before, during, and after aircraft entry into service.

All activities relating to enhancing fleet performance and reliability, helping resolve technical issues impacting the fleet. Own the technical customer relationship and attend commercial or high-level discussions between GE and the customer.

Impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives. There is moderate autonomy within the role. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.

This job is based in Seattle, WA and is not a remote position.

Job Description

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

More specifically, you will:

  • Provide program leadership, technical direction, and assistance to the customer in the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of assigned jet engine product lines

  • Monitor reliability and on wing performance (e.g. significant events, engine removals, delays and cancellation). Influence airline stakeholders to implement important reliability improvements or deliver on special programs or projects (water/foam wash, derate optimization, fleet programs, etc.).

  • Influence long-term maintenance planning to maintain aircraft engine fleet stability

  • Interpret OEM & technical manuals where necessary

  • Review effectiveness of maintenance actions to identify training need opportunities

  • Leverage lean principles to assist the customer in finding proactive reliability enhancements to drive a reduced cost of ownership

  • Produce data analytics and timely reporting of fleet status, program updates, events, and trends to key internal stakeholders

  • Assist customer with spare parts ordering, issues resolution, and provisioning

  • Provide recommendations on opportunities for proactive maintenance based on engine performance analytics

Required Qualifications:

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must:

  • Bachelor's of Engineering or technical degree from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 4 years of full time working experience in airline operations or maintenance planning, engineering, aviation propulsion, or other related field

  • Technical expertise in aircraft engine or turbomachinery equipment

  • Abilities to use software or data analytics to inform technical decisions and recommendations to customer or internal stakeholders

  • Self-directed with the ability to problem solve using sound judgement and critical thinking

  • Ability to lead and deliver on result orientated priorities using strong project management, analytical, time management and prioritization skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to forge deep relations at all levels with your customer and internal stakeholders

  • Passion to gain a deeper understanding of the commercial function and driving success for Aerospace with internal/external stakeholders, our customers, partners and colleagues

Additional Information

Relocation: This position is eligible for international relocation support.

Work Authorization: Temporary US work authorization can be provided as necessary.

Pay: The base pay range for this position is $90,200 - $150,300. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.
