GE Aerospace Senior Program Manager - Test Systems Engineering in Remote, Ohio

Job Description Summary

The Senior Program Manager role for Test Systems Engineering in the Advanced Technologies and Capabilities section will lead cross functional teams to drive program execution to meet contracted deliverables, cost, and schedule. This role will be focused on management of test execution for advanced demonstrators within the Defense and Systems product line (hypersonic and UAV), commercial Next Gen. Products (Hydrogen and Hybrid), and external test services.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead test execution and capability improvement plans aligned with program and business strategic objectives.

  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.

  • Leads Test and Assembly organizations to high quality and on time delivery of test data to support program test plan targets.

  • Determines the specific expertise needed to execute on test requirements and coordinates resources and schedules to meet requirements.

  • Leads proposal efforts in response to RFI and RFPs for both internal and external customers.

  • Develops and manages program schedules, budget baselines, and EACs to meet business objectives.

  • Manages risk and opportunity boards and leads team execution to minimize program risk exposure.

  • Supports long term strategic roadmaps for test capability, facilities, and instrumentation to provide schedule and cost estimates to senior leadership and external customers.

  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a Systems Engineering or Program/Product Management role.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in technical and program/project management leadership experience in aerospace or similar industries.

  • Must be able to obtain a US Secret Government Security Clearance.

  • Ability to travel out of state a minimum of 25% annually.

Desired Characteristics

  • Active US government Secret Security Clearance, preferred with AP approval

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence across the matrix

  • Familiarity with military-unique advanced engine technologies

  • Experience with GE NPI Tollgate and Military Qualification processes

  • Ability to achieve business outcomes while maintaining compliance to security requirements

  • Direct people-leadership experience

  • Program Management experience (EVM, IMS, Business Operations)

  • Product Management experience (PCB, CCB, Safety PMT)

  • Airframer Integration (Technical and Programmatic)

  • Developing and negotiating proposals

  • Direct interaction with customers (Airframers and US Gov't)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
