Job Description Summary

The Section Lean & Operations Leader is a key player responsible for introducing Lean culture transformation and support the alignment of business resources, for promoting teamwork and cross-functional efforts by translating business needs into operational targets, monitoring and reporting operational results across the organization. The selected candidate works as a key liaison between the Engineering Teams, Global and Site Operations, Site Lean Leader, Quality, HR, Finance, and Infrastructure to evaluate that the defined targets are met and will also partner with the Section manager and the Subsection managers in terms of process improvement, managing KPIs and executing action plans. The Section Lean & Operations Leader leverages Lean concepts and Lean methodology to implement solutions connected to the business main priorities.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

Partner with the site Operations and Lean leaders to support section manager to meet organizational goals and build a culture of continuous improvement Collaborate and support the section lean transformation strategy Collaborate in the definition and execution of the section operative plan. Collaborate to the definition and execution of the business operative plan. Monitor/report team progress implementation Collaborate in the definition and execution of financial planning for the business, in charge of leading the Section budget planning Collaborate in the definition and execution of the Section growth (hiring) plan Support section manager in establish daily management and operational review rhythm Help the teams to deliver significant and lasting improvements in lead time and waste elimination Serve as a Lean change agent by coaching Section and Sub Section in Lean activities Help to identify and scope Lean projects that align Section and Subsection goals and strategies Help to execute existing lean training programs and help to develop new training modules when needed.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Design, Aerospace, Aeronautical or similar.

  • Solid contribution in current role or previous position

  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish

  • English skills: Must be able to maintain a normal day-to-day fluid conversation in English

  • Presentation Skills: Ability to communicate with Senior Leadership

  • Demonstrated ability in managing projects across functions

  • Basic experience being a liaison between operative and support areas

  • Demonstrated Project Management Skills and the ability to manage programs, projects, orders, activities, or systems

  • Process oriented

  • Capable of coaching others to accomplish assignments

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership experience

  • Demonstrated ability in establishing common goals and objectives

  • Basic ability in influencing and shaping team's long-term vision and strategy

  • Ability to influence others and to lead teams

  • Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact

  • Effective problem identification and solution skills

  • Proven analytical and organizational abilities.

  • Previous experience in Mechanical Design, Configs Engineer, or Product support (PSE) role.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Demonstrated experience across GE, of cross-functional projects or modules, including Budget Plan inputs.

  • Demonstrated experience leading Lean projects and Lean initiatives

  • Green belt or Black belt certified
