Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead EHS initiatives for a workforce of 850, primarily engaged in engine repair and overhaul, setting a strong EHS culture and expectations.

  • Craft strategic EHS plans and policies that align with GE's overarching EHS frameworks and business objectives, adhering to all relevant laws and regulations.

  • Manage budgets effectively to support the execution of EHS programs.

  • Support FLIGHTDECK activities, ensuring EHS practices enhance operational efficiency, quality, and delivery.

  • Collaborate with EHS committees, regulatory agencies, and union safety representatives, offering expert guidance and support.

  • Promote EHS compliance through rigorous audits and a proactive approach to risk management.

  • Direct the planning and execution of comprehensive EHS training for all personnel.

  • Implement robust change management programs to manage risks associated with process and engineering modifications.

  • Oversee key security systems, identifying and mitigating potential vulnerabilities.

  • Coordinate Site Response Teams and manage Security/Crisis Drills in alignment with Site Response Plans.

  • Champion cross-functional collaboration, driving EHS strategic initiatives that are in harmony with our business goals.

  • Prioritize the safety and well-being of all employees, contractors, and visitors, while safeguarding the environment and local community.

  • Develop and implement EHS strategies, setting cultural expectations, and energizing the team to address challenges and achieve both short-term and long-term objectives.

  • Manage the GE Security Risk & Crisis Management Program, ensuring the security of people, information, facilities, and assets, alongside maintaining business continuity and reputation integrity.

  • Act as the primary liaison with GE Global/Regional Risk & Crisis Management Teams and manage the Site Security Office provider.

Qualifications & experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge and experience

  • NEBOSH diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.

  • Extensive experience in EHS management within a manufacturing setting, preferably in the aerospace sector.
