Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to team on key projects and provide progress, strategic, and financial updates to senior leaders on the remedial portfolio.

  • Optimize the mix of internal and external resources to provide best value for GE Aerospace while effectively managing the risks (e.g., financial, regulatory, technical, reputational, etc.).

  • Partner with Corporate Holdings EHS Legal Director and Counsel on all programmatic and site-specific matters.

  • Manage financial requirements (budget, reserves) in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley reserve requirements while ensuring accurate estimates and timely reporting of reserve early-warnings and budget changes.

  • Partner with Public Affairs and Communications to publicly represent GE Aerospace in community and at public meetings, as well as interact with government regulators and external environmental community.

  • Support remedial preparation for sale activities at Brownfield sites within the legacy portfolio.

  • Strategically balance the use of staff (assignments) to facilitate working across all elements of GE Aerospace’s Legacy Site program.

  • Oversee management of and ensure use of best practices for contracting/sourcing of external spend and provide expertise related to contract management activities.

  • Ensure consistent application of internal GE Aerospace policy and controls on reserving, budgeting, etc.

  • Provide expert technical services as needed to support EHS Legal, Brownfields, Transactions or other business projects.

  • Provide strategic leadership and expertise involving deep domain knowledge of federal, state and provincial environmental regulations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated success in coordinating technical, financial, reputational, and legal components of projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology or Environmental Sciences. Advanced degree a plus.

  • Minimum 15 years project management experience on environmental projects. Experience with a company as well as a governmental agency a plus.

  • Ability to communicate using English.

Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization as well as organizations outside GE Aerospace (customers and regulatory agencies).

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Established project management skills with clear results on complex issues

  • Experience interacting with senior government regulators and the external environmental community.

  • Strong leader who has established followership and has a track record of talent development, organizational design and implementing efficiencies.

  • The ability to synthesize complex problems and public policy issues, while identifying their related business implications and take the actions necessary to advocate a recommended outcome

  • A hands-on approach to problem solving, as well as a professional executive presence for interacting with and influencing public policy decision makers, senior management, and executives internal and external to the Company

  • Strong cross functional collaboration and influencing skills across all levels of the organization.

  • Proven lean process mindset and demonstrated outcomes employing lean tools.
