The Repair APQP Quality Engineer will coordinate deployment of Advanced Product Quality Planning within the McAllen Site to ensure high quality NPI component repairs at rate, that conform to GEA Manufacturing and Quality requirements. Initiatives will include working with cross functional teams and partner with engineering, operations and quality engineers to drive KPI goals that foster a zero-defect quality culture. This leader will coach/mentor deliverables of APQP in conjunction with FLIGHT DECK tools.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Be an APQP quality engineer for various projects with several part families and/or different engine programs

• Help develop roadmaps that lead to successful integration of APQP into existing policies and procedures into the McAllen shop.

• Collaborate with various leaders in different functions to understand best approach to implementing changes within NPI and Product Management.

• Develop training content and enable standardization of tools and processes.

• Generate executive summaries that clearly indicate status, business impact and significant issues related to NPI Industrialization projects.

• Identify Lean opportunities and lead Kaizen partnering with leadership and shop personnel

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 5+ years of quality management experience (or a minimum high school diploma / GED with an additional 5+ years of quality management experience).

• Ability to travel internationally, approximately 10%.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an outstanding ability to interact and engage at all levels of the organization- from the shop floor to senior leadership

• Proven technical ability to quickly understand a wide range of technical manufacturing process issues and to connect appropriate technical, lean and quality personnel as needed

• Understanding of GE Aerospace quality policies and procedures

• QEP level 1 certification

• Knowledge of MRO FAR145 activities, SPM/ESM and RD.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

• Demonstrated knowledge of APQP principles

• Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.

• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

• Established project management skills
