Job Description Summary

The MRO Powerplant Engineering Leader reports to the GE Lafayette Plant Leader and works in a self-directed teaming structure. This role is responsible for providing technical support within the shop with relation to CFM LEAP engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul.

GE Lafayette has been in operation since 2015 and currently supports LEAP and Passport programs for New Make and MRO. The site’s culture is designed around a flat organization that empowers self-directed, high performing teams.

By utilizing teams of GE employees to own, operate, and regulate assembly processes we ensure our engines reach the customer in a quality and timely fashion. Teams, councils and teaming are the back bone of daily operations within GE Lafayette.

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Create engine specific workscopes in ERP system (OASIS)

  • Establish and maintain Service Bulletin Baselines

  • Shop Instruction creation / maintenance and review

  • Maintain knowledge of developing fleet issues, communicate and action as appropriate to avoid exposure to site and customers

  • Review of engine disassembly and engine hardware and timely reporting of condition

  • Interpret and translate customer maintenance documents into Lafayette specific internal documents to ensure compliance with customer requirements

  • Day to day communications (ie specific engine issues, conditions and investigations)

  • Provide technical support for repair industrialization efforts utilizing insights from customer and MCRB in collaboration with Program Improvement Leader and headquarters team

  • Collaborate with LEAP PSE (Product Support Engineering)/ CTP (Customer Technical Program) on Fleet issues

  • Work with technicians to troubleshoot technical issues that arise within the shop

  • Support and coach self-directed teams to achieve program/business objectives

  • Coordinate with and support LEAP Platform on technical, contractual or CSA related issues

  • Improve customer engine condition reporting process

  • Work with internal and external departments and vendors on any technical issues as required to support business needs

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing and/or engineering ) + Minimum of 3 years of (manufacturing and/or engineering ) experience
