Job Description Summary
The GEnx CTP Strategic Propulsion Engineer (SPPE) is a member of the Customer Technical Programs (CTP) team and will be the CTP focal in the Haikou Engine Services (HES) MRO shop. This role is tasked with developing strategic workscopes optimized for CSA contract CTQ’s as well as identifying and executing CSA cost opportunities including escalation mitigations, MRB dispositions, and shop costs. This role also supports strategic workscoping for T&M contracts. GEnx program with this role will offer growth in leadership, shop experience, customer exposure, and engineering services technologies.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
MRO workscope strategy
ESM/AMM assembly procedures
Shop/near-wing technology development & deployment
Support Shop leading indicator programs
Contractual profitability via cost control program implementation, workscope escalation trending, DR application, implementation of FPLS and associated invoice generation
Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks
Effectively communicate with the customer program manager (CPM) to assure quality technical consultation in support of CSA contracts
Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules and customer commitments
Coordinate with different functions to organize technical forums - identify need for technical and program reviews within the organization, lead reviews and participate as a reviewer
Participate in pre-induction and gate reviews f to assure all technical workscope options are being considered and optimized
Negotiate repair specifications with CSA customers
Drive change by demonstrating clear thinking, articulate roles & responsibilities, manage hand-offs between different organizations
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects/tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Foster and inspire a collaborative work style and display team-oriented behavior with a proactive example of communication internally and externally
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college
A minimum of 10 years experience in an aerospace or mechanical engineering position
Desired Characteristics:
Advanced Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
EEDP graduate
MRO Shop or airline shop experience
Previous experience in Aviation engines / systems / aircraft / repair or turbo machinery
Familiar with GE Aerospace long term service agreements, customer / product support role functions (CPM / CSM)
Previous experience working within GE RSP relationships
Ability to effectively manage multiple project responsibilities
Previous experience in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement
Familiarity with aircraft flight operations
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with customers
Strong organization and planning skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
