Job Description Summary

The Executive Counsel, Global Investigations will lead government-facing, regulatory, and significant internal investigations for GE Aerospace and report to the Chief Counsel for Global Investigations.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Leading complex and cross-jurisdictional governmental, regulatory, and internal investigations that pose potential legal and reputational risk for GE Aerospace and its businesses

  • Managing interactions with enforcement agencies in the United States and around the globe with independence, judgment, and strategic vision

  • Partnering with senior business leadership on thoughtful, meaningful, and sustainable responses to investigative findings

  • Managing and analyzing large data and document reviews

  • Contributing to internal, cross-functional processes of continuous improvement

  • Driving measurable efficiencies in investigative matter management

  • Helping to address emerging issues and trends through policy guidance and training initiatives

Qualifications / Requirements

  • J.D. or equivalent law degree from a recognized international institution

  • 12+ years’ experience handling complex white-collar investigations for the U.S. Department of Justice, in a law firm, or in-house

  • Domain expertise in the management of complex, fast-paced, and high-risk investigations carrying governmental enforcement risk

  • Demonstrated experience with Aviation, Aerospace, or technologically advanced industrial manufacturing

  • Demonstrated experience managing product safety and quality investigations within the framework of U.S. and global flight safety regulation

  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • US False Claims Act with an emphasis on government procurement

  • Government contracts in the field of aerospace, aviation, and/or technologically advanced industrial manufacturing

  • US Foreign Corruption Practices Act (FCPA) and other US and international anti-corruption laws

  • Enforcement of securities laws and regulation

  • International trade and sanctions laws

  • Anti-trust laws

  • Intellectual property theft / economic espionage / computer crimes

  • Complex frauds

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
