The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs essential duties and responsibilities maintaining equipment utilized for Aerospace applications.

Job Description

Pay Rate starts at $24.68 PLUS $1.50/hr Shift Differential.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment with a focus on Kilns, Furnaces, Vacuum Induction Melter, Boilerclave, Caustic Autoclave and HVAC systems, and smaller sub-systems such as pump-motor assemblies.

  • Repair and maintain mechanical and hydraulic components of production machines and equipment, following technical specifications using hand tools, power tools, or precision measuring instruments.

  • Investigate root cause of variety of equipment problems, develops repair procedures and implements repair.

  • Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, per specifications and plumbing codes.

  • Observe and record readings of instruments such as thermometers, thermocouples, air flowmeters, voltmeters, ammeters, circuit tracers and pressure and draft gauges.

  • Study building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.

  • Work outside the plant on roofing issues, exterior dust collection, cooling water, inert gas, cooling tower, and grounds upkeep including scrap wood, scrap metal, equipment storage, fence line inspection.

  • Assist maintenance team in plant rearrangement of working cells

  • Order and track material required for repairs

  • Operate material handling equipment such as fork or scissor lifts

  • Comply with LOTO and other safety regulations

  • Ability to keep team informed of work progress, timelines, and issues

  • Excellent attendance history

  • Ability to work with little direction or supervision

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent customer service to co-workers, customers, and vendors

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of four years prior experience in various maintenance disciplines

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work OT as needed

  • Must be available for emergency on-call list

Desired Characteristics:

  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of electrical work in compliance with NEC; ability to read and understand electrical and electrical control schematics and install or repair electrical service.

  • HMI and PLC experience

  • Ability to repair mechanical equipment such as Vacuum and HT Furnaces, Automated equipment, etc.

  • Maintenance and/or Electrical Certifications.

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills

  • Understanding of and experience reading technical manuals
