GE Aerospace Lead Quality System Engineer in Dayton, Ohio

Job Description Summary

The Lead Quality System Engineer is responsible for the administration and maintenance of the quality system in support of regulatory, customer contractual and GE quality system requirements. Ensures site quality procedures are communicated and cascaded down throughout the organization. Demonstrates leadership by communicating cross functionally to assure manufacturing processes and site policies align to customer and regulatory compliance. This role is in Beaver Creek Ohio, just outside Dayton.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and audits to gauge compliance with applicable regulatory, customer, and quality system compliance

  • Partner with support staff and work teams to identify high risk areas and implement sustainable corrective actions

  • Create, revise, and participate in quality system document updates

  • Identify, drive, and partner with the teams to implement projects that improve overall production quality and throughput

  • Advise cross functional team on alternative approaches to Engineering activities, when appropriate

  • Ensure quality records are maintained and assure retention compliance in accordance with regulatory and customer requirements

  • Interface with, and provide support to, regulatory authorities, customer representatives, and supplier representatives

  • Review technical documentation with a view to quality and compliance requirements

  • Use LEAN methodologies to drive regulatory compliance, optimize quality systems that support field action, and improve product quality and reliability

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing and/ or Quality)

  • At least 3 years of experience in Production Quality

  • Experience in APQP, Advanced Product Quality Planning

  • Expertise in AS9100 knowledge
