Job Description Summary

In this role, you would work as the overall senior architect for the Aerospace Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) environment. You would join the GE Aerospace Defense & Systems Digital Technology organization, under the DT Systems Engineering team, to drive the deployment, Level 4 support and enhancements of modern engineering tools across GE Aerospace.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with Engineering users and teams, to support the customer and ensure that the voice of customer is understood.

  • Coordinate and drive regular architectural steerage meetings with the D&S DT Systems Engineering team.

  • Leads weekly support/enhancement request reviews.

  • Oversees the overall system architecture, within the Aerospace Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) tools environment.

  • Drives problem resolution with 3rd party tool vendors.

  • Provide Level 4 supports for the UK Engineering tools used within the business.

  • Understands future roadmaps of the Aerospace ELM tools and helps ensure consistency across the team.

  • Researches and evaluates emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in the D&S Systems Engineering team development.

  • Interacts with 3rd party tool vendors, ensuring a continued and strong relationship/partnership.

  • Responsible for the deployment of ELM templates into Production.

Education Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with significant experience.

Substantial history and experience with usage or development/deployment of digital engineering tools platforms

Desired Characteristics

Knowledge and previous usage of the following :

  • Engineering tools – IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM)

  • Requirements & Design tools - IBM DOORS Classic, IBM DOORS Next Generation (DNG), IBM Engineering Requirements Management (ERM), Rhapsody

  • Change & Configuration Management tools - IBM Engineering Workflow Management (EWM) / Rational Team Concert (RTC), GitHub, Rational Synergy/Change

  • Test Management tools - IBM Engineering Test Management (ETM), Rational Quality Manager (RQM)

  • Experience of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods and tools

  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate in a global team within a virtual environment

  • Experience with DevOps practices and principles
