We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer for our PCB (printed circuit board) manufacturing division.

In this position you will act as a technical authority in a range of PCB disciplines and equipment; governance and technical sign-off, for any process/programme changes, and be responsible for work packages and delivery against business milestones. Where applicable you would also support in the leadership of a small internal technical team.

Job Description

Primarily PCB Manufacturing engineering tactical responsibilities.

  • Manage delivery plans with overall business awareness.

  • Risk assessment and mitigation, with problem solving attributes. Has some autonomy in decision making.

  • Lead & co-ordinate small projects in pursuit of manufacturing yield excellence.

  • Write machine programmes (SPI, Pick & Place, AOI), develop new methods and evolve processes.

  • Defines new methods/tooling designs and defines/advises on local operating procedures.

  • Interprets data and recommends actions using Engineering knowledge and experience / judgement.

  • Prepares and reviews procedures. Influences Design for Manufacture. Identify and implement the delivery of continuous improvement & the transfer of best practice. Knows process capability & limitations.

  • Can identify/evaluate improvement opportunities, a plan for delivery -and execution.

  • Prepare documentation for new and existing manufacturing processes.

  • Build manuals, control plans and PFMEA.

  • Prepare support documentation for rectification of defective material to be returned to original design / drawing intent.

  • Investigate and drive RCCA on Quality issues, ensuring containment of concerns and corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence.

  • Implementation of Engineering changes ECNs and assure product compliance by means of a FAIR to AS9102 requirements.

  • Review and update Engineering procedures and or Quality Standards following updates within the wider industry.

  • Production cell focal of machine/manufacturing/process issues or concerns, guides and coaches those around to find best resolutions to issues.

Qualifications/Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or significant experience in a manufacturing engineering discipline.

  • Highly experienced technicians with proven Technical support of PCB shop floor and minimum qualification of HNC will be considered.

  • We are ideally looking for candidates with a specialism in either Surface Mount Manufacturing or Plated Through Hole (PTH) Manufacturing as well as Inspection processes/methodologies.
