Job Information
GE Aerospace Engine Dynamics Tools and Method Sr Software Engineer in Bengaluru, India
Job Description Summary
• Engine Dynamics Advanced Design Tools team develops/maintains state of the art rotor dynamics predictive tools for GE Aviation’s aircraft engines design. Main responsibilities are to enhance/maintain 2D/3D tools used for publishing engine loads, engine balancing activities & test correlations. It involves design process automation, standardization & optimization.
Rotor Dynamics assessment of Engines are carried out predominantly by 2D tools in preliminary design phase & 3D tools in certification phase. 2D & 3D domains have its own preprocessor, post-processor & solvers which helps in publishing maximum loads across the engine components during the various operation cycles. Rotor dynamics assessment of engines is very critical as it controls engine component sizing and ensures the rotor stability throughout engine operation cycle.
Engine Dynamics Tools and Method Engineer will be responsible for maintenance/enhancement of rotor dynamics tools used in engine design cycle as per business need. The role demands understanding of the fundamentals of gas turbines, converting engineering requirements into software needs & developing, testing & deploying software for engineering teams. Engineer will be expected to understand the current technology gap compared to industry trend and come up with ideas to mitigate those gaps and implement the technology in GE environment using in-house or 3rd party tools. In this role, the person will enable the development and deployment of quick rotor dynamics design iteration techniques using AI/ML technique on need basis.
