Job Description Summary

Accountable for all aspects of planning, forecasting, production of the end-to-end lifecycle of a product. Impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives.

Responsible for Cloud application development and management supporting Actuarial, Finance and Investment functions using Azure cloud technologies. Utilize deep hands on experience in Azure technology to manage a team of developers and leads in the technology area and provide guidance and leadership. Strong working understanding of the reinsurance business model and business processes related to insurance operations. Skilled and experienced Azure Applications manager to work in collaborative IT team. Responsible for overseeing the development, deployment, and maintenance of web applications using Microsoft's .NET framework within Azure cloud environment.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

• This role reports to the Director – Technical Product Management - Finance & Actuarial and is responsible to create strong working relationships, influence across functional groups and within Operations to execute the business strategy.

• Will engage customers at technical levels to present approach and feature overview, create application design, solution design, application architecture , database design

• Deep understanding of Application development in Azure cloud and data analytics and experience in data mart management and support

• Lead a team of developers in designing, developing, and deploying scalable and secure .NET / Angular web applications on cloud platforms such as Azure Kubernetes

• Provide technical guidance to the team and ensure best practices are followed

• Expertise in integrating .NET applications with cloud services, databases, and other third-party APIs (SharePoint). Implement and maintain cloud-based infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability

• Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure adherence to coding standards. Implement and enforce best practices related to coding, testing, and deployment process

• Monitor, analyze, and optimize application performance, addressing bottlenecks and ensuring responsive user experiences. Implement caching, load balancing, and other optimization techniques.

• Guide and review with the technical team to create technical documentation, including system architecture, design documents, and deployment procedures. Ensure knowledge sharing within the team.

• Implement Lean daily management and Lean continuous improvement concepts in Application development and operations.

• Leverages deep process/domain expertise and partners with key stakeholders in design and planning decisions.

• Drives the development of products that are targeted at a (usually) very technical audience. Combines the customer vision with technical feasibility to convert business needs into functional specifications/user stories. Works with customers/stakeholders to prioritize needs.

• Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.

• Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.

• Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.

• Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.

Qualification/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Extensive experience in developing .NET web applications using C# and ASP.NET MVC/Core.

• Strong proficiency in cloud platforms such as Azure Cloud and deep dive hands on experience]

• Proficient in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular or React

• Deep understanding of database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and their integration with .NET applications.

• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Azure Kubernetes ( AKS ).

• Deep knowledge in setting up and running DevOPS, CI/CD, GitHub, ML ops, Machine learning platforms, Synapse, Data warehouse, Strong project skills and working on Agile Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure. Strong communication and leadership skills.
