As a Senior Special Process and Lab Manager, you will be responsible of Special Processes (NON-Destructive Test, Heat Treatment, Welding & Pouring), Laboratory (Metallurgical and Chemical), Dimensional Inspection & Metrology Room directly Impacting Plant Financial Target Results (37 M$ SCO and 4 M$ losses).

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

• Demonstrate expertise in managing Nadcap and internal personnel qualifications; support and implement key production process control

• Improve best practices in order to directly impact FTY; benchmark with European and International Laboratories looking for top and recognized technician to grow Company metallurgical knowledge and new control technology for Problem Solving support

• Suggest and approve strategic P&E to support Borgaretto Transformation along with a new mindset in the dimensional qualification and Inspection Plan execution

• Support welding transformation into a standardized, advanced and repetitive process

• Manage of priorities as well as detecting bottleneck in order to support a 6M$ consistent production ramp-up

• Work in team to organize and to perform key control required on production parts

• Support Daily Shop Management through effective Data Collection

• Strive to thorough analyze all the details using the appropriate lab instrumentation (chemical, mechanical, metallurgical)

• Prepare, update and maintain Special Processes and Laboratory instructions flowing all costumers requirements

• Prepare and sustain customers and control authorities audits supporting process specialists (i.e. Nadcap)

• Support process specialists to maintain and monitor special processes personnel qualifications

• Set white and blue collars work priorities

• Support all company workplace policies including safety objectives

• Coach and Develop a performance oriented work environment

Qualifications/ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Physics

• Problem Solving skills using the appropriate tools and logic (6-sigma; 5-why; TOPS-8D; APPS and PSR) to get to the bottom of RCCA

• Previous experience in a quality control, improvement, manufacturing or engineering and Non destructive test role that provides leadership to cross-functional teams in the quality process manufacturing improvement environment is a plus

• Fluent in Italian and English, both oral and written

• Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

Desired Characteristics

• Previous experience in a Chemical and/or Metallurgy and/or Metrology Laboratory is preferred

• Knowledge of Heat Treating, Welding, FPI and X-Ray on a casting environment is preferred

• Ability to train and develop self and others

• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills

• Knowledge of machining/fabricating and/or assembly and test processes

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

• Proven analytical abilities

• Results oriented with attention to critical details
